24" blade for Starrett combination square

As I fine tune the drawer runners for a dresser I'm building it seemed once again that it would be nice to have a 24" blade for my Starrett combination square but, at $130 bucks, it has been hard to justify the expenditure. Then I happened upon a listing on eBay for "Blem Cosmetic Second PEC 24" 4R Combination Square Blades." After reading the very clear explanation about these cosmetic seconds with PEC's name ground off, I ordered one, hoping it wouldn't turn out to be too rough looking.

Well, it arrived today, and I couldn't be more pleased. I can't even find the offending blemish that made this a PEC reject and their ground-off name is hardly noticeable. It's Made in the USA, fits the Starrett combo body perfectly and looks great - for thirty bucks.

I thought some of you Creekers might like to know.
