Help on updating classifieds

Following the posting of an ad in the classified section, some items are sold..It would be ideal if there were a way to update the status of the items remaining by showing which items were SOLD. It becomes cumbersome for an SMC member to have wade through the entire ad to figure out which items are left.
A fellow SMC member offered me this suggestion:

Just above the blue line that marks the top of post #2 at the bottom of post #1, on the right side is a 'pencil' icon "Edit Post", if you click on that one you should be able to modify the text.

I have been unable to use this suggestion or find the icon...Perhaps because I am the OP.

Is there a way to update the status of "sold items" in classified ads in a simple manner? Thank you.
