12.5"x5.5" bowl from Ponderosa Pine. The blue stain was created by the tree as tried reacted to pine beetles that had invaded it. In the "old days" blue stained lumber was undesirable. Now-a-days, it is in high demand for it's beautiful character. I picked up a couple of rounds of this while hunting in eastern Oregon last year. This weekend, I final turned it and then applied minwax finish, followed by a buffing and waxing.
C&C welcomed.
